With this course, you’ll learn how to improve the lives of people locally and globally through preventing and managing health problems. You’ll be getting the skills and knowledge you need to help people live longer, healthier and better lives.

Combing teaching and independent learning, you’ll learn everything you need for a management career in public health. You’ll study the sector both globally and nationally, thinking about policy and practice while studying the healthcare sector in detail. The course covers everything from monitoring specific diseases and risk factors to improving services and health protection.

You’ll learn through lectures, seminars, workshops, tutorials, self-directed learning and e-learning. Plus, you’ll do some independent working, taking your studies up a level from undergraduate. The degree is marked through coursework, projects, posters, oral presentations, timed tests and exams.

With this degree, you can apply for management-level jobs in health policy, helping people live longer, happier and better lives. You’ll graduate with the skills and knowledge you need to work in high-level roles, looking at health legislation and policy.

With an MSc in Public Health, you can work for primary health care teams, public health units, drug and alcohol charities and in social care. Plus, you’d be able to apply for management roles in the NHS, local authorities and non-statutory sectors in epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, health administration, health education and health policy.
